Trough history the world has seen some generations that have made an impact than any other of its precursors. As in the decades of the 1960 and 1970 were for the world one of those eras. Even though something particular was that the people didn’t follow a specific leader, but was part of it ideologies because they believe in alternative cultures which were very free. This generation was conformed with the younger population from ages of 15 to 25. But even many “experiences in life” this society was such radical as the way they were given their own name still today. They came to be known as the Hippies.
During the 1960s the hippie movement began in San Francisco, California and across United States, trough Canada and in part of Europe, recognized as a contra culture movement. But one of the reasons was because students didn’t like the idea of the Vietnam War. Theirs beginnings were organized by the middle-class students that took the streets not only to protest against the war but to protest against the moral principles that were taught on those days. In the universities, the students criticize the racism to participate for the decision of the process of the universities.
This movement greatest influence in America because with their alternative life and radical beliefs they move many people that believes on what was saying. Many of the hippies left their families to start in the “hippie wave” even thought their many different reasons. Some were disagree of what their parent thoughts, others only wanted to get away an others were exile and the only option was to be part of the hippie population.
The principal ideology was based in the conformism, homelessness, oriental mysticism, especially the Zen version of Buddhism, an expansion of individual conscience of unrestricted alcohol and drug, mainly LSD and hashish colorful pacifism through the so-called flower power setting all disputes.
The hippies (flower people) fashion were simple and the only thing they want was to express their thoughts, ideologies and the life as a colorful and a relax way. Basically their clothes were colorful to prove how could be the life, in a color way. Even though, their dresses were with bell-shaped blue jeans, large Indian hemp shirts, and also with cotton bands round their foreheads or necks. But it’s important to know that not only this creativity were only in the creation of the clothes but also in the music too.
The Hippies movement was so important for many places especially for America, because it makes a mark in the society making drastically changes. This generation was the one that open the mind, and propose others alternatives lifestyle that young population adopt and believe on what was saying and what was protesting for. The colorful, the way of dressing, the way to take their hair, or also the way to talk, are some characteristics of how hippies wear and the way of act. Its beginners were basically because disconfirms that were produce by conflicts as the Vietnam war was, but one of the principal ideologies and objectives was to make a radical change on what the society thought about.
